The brow folds downward over recessed eyes while the mouth and chin extend well below the center line. Layered channels along both sides connect the face to a broad shank.

The long lower face needs clearance from the neighboring finger and can feel more top-heavy than a plain band. Measure the intended finger near the time of wear and make sure the chosen ring passes the knuckle. GIA sizing guidance treats band width, finger shape and measurement method as practical fit factors; a projecting face that rotates is not, by itself, proof that sizing down is safe.

Protect the jaw and ribbed channels

Put the ring on after dressing and remove it for lifting, machinery and impact work because the long jaw and side ridges can catch or strike hard surfaces.

Brush along the eye openings and ribbed shoulders without levering against the lower jaw. Use a soft brush in recesses and light cloth pressure on raised planes. Canadian Conservation Institute guidance notes that polishing removes silver, so avoid repeatedly stripping intentional dark contrast.
