Measure the intended finger close to the time of wear and make sure the selected size can pass the knuckle. GIA guidance notes that ring width and finger shape influence fit. A substantial or projecting face may rotate when loose, but automatically sizing down can create a different problem at the knuckle.

Use the polished brow as the defining surface

The forehead remains largely uninterrupted, while cheek recesses and a short jaw concentrate detail lower on the face. The inspected front, side and rear views preserve this same construction rather than switching to a different ring.

Polish the forehead without filling the sockets
