The eye opening passes through the helmet face, while the cheek guards taper below it and the crown rises above the finger in a visibly asymmetric, battle-worn form.

Protect the crest and cheek guards

Put the ring on after dressing because the projecting crest and lower guards can meet loose fabric. Remove the ring for lifting, machinery, impact work and tasks where a raised edge could catch. Its published weight is retained exactly as a catalog fact and is not a load or impact rating.

Brush inside the visor and along crest cuts, then wipe broad helmet planes with light pressure. Canadian Conservation Institute guidance notes that polishing removes some silver, so use light pressure and avoid repeatedly stripping intentional dark contrast from recesses.
